I always thought that at some point the name of my blog would become a liability. An anachronism. At some point the high tech equipment industry would recover to the point that it would no longer be trying to survive a recession, and my blog title would be… be obsolete! Yahoo!
Is it Time to Take [...]
Call it the worst semiconductor cycle yet or simply “The Recession,” the fact is - many are looking for work. Still, most of my friends and colleagues are still working in performance improvement related jobs at high tech companies - equipment trainers, eLearning developers, technical writers, and so on. We can help each other out.

The short answer is that the Technician Performance Improvement Council (TPIC) was officially dissolved during the fall of 2008 by its Board of Directors with the intention of establishing a new professional association of technical trainers in high tech industries. Snow job: This is when we begin to fill time with a lot of theory, some degree of which is irrelevant and useless. This can be prompted by many things, like lack of access to a machine [...]
Since 1995, some 1600+ individuals in the semiconductor industry have improved their performance-based equipment training (PBET) skills through participation in the PBET Workshop. Since then, many have left the industry, voluntarily or otherwise, while others continue to champion the benefit of PBET within the semiconductor industry.
But those who work in the semiconductor industry know that it is [...]
